inglés I am trying to imagine how the story of a group of soldiers, surrounded somewhere on the Eastern front, would unfold. It would probably be full of pathos, heroism, gunfire, and the groans of slain enemies. Irony and parodic elements do not fit well into a world soaked in ideology and shocking violence. But things are different in France. The trio of soldiers, who only narrowly escaped captivity, at times appear as if they were on vacation instead of in a war. They even find time for a nice swim. If they are trying to reunite with their army, do not look for their desire to continue the war until their bodies are torn apart, but rather for pragmatic calculation and an effort to avoid a prisoner camp in a foreign country. The first part of the story of the Seventh Platoon does not present a crazy comedy with a flood of gags, but rather a lightly amusing narration in a relaxed spirit supported by the presence of likable actors. Time did take its toll, amounting to one star less, but I have no problem giving the film the other three. Overall impression: 65%. ()

inglés "This is Mirabelka. Hyacinth? I'm changing the order. Retreat towards Sarville, the Germans have already almost penetrated to where you are. You'd be stuck there till the end of the war. And stay as long as you can along the Macechoula Forest, it's pretty thick. Okay?" -- "Yeah. We’ll have some conak for the road... "Did you mean cognac? Who am I talking to? Is this Hyacinth?" -- "Nein, you have no chyacint. This is German infantry major Von Kurtel. But that's okay, stay put, we're there now, hehehehehehe." In short, when I get tired of Now Where Did the Seventh Company Get to?, call me a doctor. Or better yet, the coroner. ()

inglés A classic French comedy with clever humour that is bound to appeal to everyone. Even though the plot is set in the times of the harshest German occupation, it’s incredible how the director, with the help of those great actors, managed to lighten it perfectly and deliver such an entertaining and absurd view of the whole affair. I would have liked this kind of warfare too... 80% ()
