Jason Kelly (Zac Efron), está a una semana de contraer matrimonio con la hija controladora de su jefe, lo cual lo deja en buena posición para ser socio del despacho legal en el que trabaja. Sin embargo, cuando el bien portado Jason es engañado para llevar a su mal hablado abuelo Dick (Robert De Niro), de spring break a Daytona, su matrimonio se pone en riesgo. Entre fiestas de fraternidad, peleas en bares, y una noche épica de karaoke, Dick está decidido en vivir su vida al máximo. A great example of a comedy that will be appreciated more by men than by women. The thing is that Robert De Niro’s character can somehow be understood if you are a man, but if you are a woman and on top of that a hard-core feminist, any allusion to anything will to you seem quite racist and very personal. And that may be why there are several Boo! ratings here, which is something I don’t understand. I laughed from the heart a couple of times. Does that make me a bad person?

Dirty Grandpa lures with with its references to Robert De Niro's earlier comedies with , but in this case, unfortunately, it is not as good a piece of work. I don't mind foul language or a dash of toilet humour, but here it felt over the line and completely misused in places. I laughed a few times, I won’t deny that, but I rather thought that De Niro doesn't need such films and that we, the audience, could do without them.

Es extremadamente grosero, totalmente incorrecto, parcialmente repugnante y además completamente predecible, pero aún así me gustó enormemente, me divirtió y me hizo reír. Tuve la sensación de que Robert De Niro lo estaba disfrutando mucho y Zac Efron, que interpreta a su compañero en "Neighbors", también lo hizo genial. Y cuando agregamos a Zoey Deutch a la mezcla, no hay nada más que decir. Una comedia relajante por excelencia.

I didn't give it 4 stars only because the pace was needlessly slowed down at the end with overblown romance that seemed completely out of place. Even though the humor was mostly crude, overusing the f-word, it worked just fine for me. It’s not supposed to be an intellectual film with some sort of a deeper meaning. It’s a feel-good comedy that lets you switch off and relax, and I sure did.
