Sinopsis(1)

A riveting drama depicting the racial riots that spread across Germany more than twenty years ago, reflecting actual events and the continuing problem of xenophobia. In August 1992 in Rostock, Germany, a boisterous crowd attacks a projects building inhabited by re-fugees and immigrants applying for asylum. For Stefan, Robbie and their gang, the skirmishes between police and refugees are a welcome distraction from the boredom of their empty days. Stefan's father is a local politician who is trying to find a peaceful solution to the situation but continually runs into ro-adblocks. Lien and her Vietnamese family want to stay in Germany where they have jobs and friends but, as the tensions increase, they begin to fear for their lives. The strong performances in this drama present three different views of one event. (Days of European Film)

inglés A very powerful story based on real events. I saw this picture during "Das Filmfest 10" and it left a lasting effect on me. I like movies that make you think. The theme can easily be compared with the migration waves we are experiencing today. An endless line of questions occur to you during and after the movie, not all of which can be reliably answered. The movie is very well filmed and the black and white tones add an extra dimension, as do the acting performances. The picture has a bit of a depressing air about it, just how I like it. The filmmakers did an excellent job of capturing the situation, so I’m content. ()
