Mai sing

I'm quite surprised at the quality of crime films coming to us from Asia. I'd much rather watch a crime film from Asia than, say, one from England, which, while prolific in this regard, isn't always as high in quality. This is a film that isn't quite top-notch, but that doesn't stop it from having the right atmosphere and pulling you in. (02.11.2015)

Ringo Lam rocked in the 90s, but today he no longer has anything to impress with. To his credit, he has no problem with the visuals and technical aspects, and he has no problem getting names like Louis Koo, Shawn Yue and Simon Yam to appear in the film, but that's not enough. The film has a very bland and uninteresting story, backed up by a slower pace and the action isn't worth much either, there are some chase sequences, the occasional gory scene (the boat engine scene in particular was fine) but not very satisfying for me. 55% (20.10.2015)
