Writer and Adderall enthusiast Stephen Elliott reaches a low point when his estranged father resurfaces, claiming that Stephen has fabricated much of the dark childhood that that fuels his writing. Adrift in the precarious gray area of memory, Stephen is led by three sources of inspiration: a new romance, the best friend who shares his history, and a murder trial that reminds him more than a little of his own story. A film that presents itself quite pleasantly as an interesting thriller and family drama at the same time. You might think that the emphasis will be placed on the court case happening in the background, but after a while you realize that everything is actually a bit different and all the potential that was presented at the beginning fades away, and all you can do is enjoy the good performances of the actors.
