Only yesterday, ambitious aircraft designer and womanizer Yuri Gordeyev was just a step away from triumph. His plane, the YUG-1, was on course to become a real milestone in Russian aviation history. Today, however, he's nowhere to be found, and his business rival swiftly shuts the company down. It emerges that Yuri died in an air accident, and is now a ghost. Meanwhile, 8th grader Vanya Kuznetsov has always been a complete nobody. The victim of his mother's doting and object of ridicule among his classmates, he doesn't even dare speak to the girl of his dreams. Yuri has just one week to finish his life's work and get his plane off the ground. Vanya might just be able to help Yuri, because he's the only person who can see him. (Кинокомпания СТВ)

An enjoyable comedy from Russia about an aircraft designer who dies in an accident, but his soul/body continues to reside in our world. No one sees or hears him except a little boy at school, as his soul is untainted. The idea and the execution are fine, but the two-hour running time is unfortunately too much for such a film, and the funny moments are not as many as I would have liked. As an original family comedy, however, it's fine. 6/10.
