In 1986, an alienated 16 year-old, Lara Hill (Eleanor Tomlinson), accompanies her art historian father (Stephen Rea) to an abandoned castle across the Iron Curtain. The movie "Styria" is not a great horror film, but it is a movie that can make an impression with its atmosphere. There are no standout, memorable scenes, but overall, the way the film affects you is something that can captivate you. It is dark, it is somewhat hopeless, which is something that horror can also evoke, and in this case, it was done quite well. So, it is definitely average.
