Sinopsis(1)
Viktor and Volodya don't have an easy job. The remote Ukrainian village of Stara Zburyevka has no police force and the mayor puts them in charge of safety. In a beat-up Lada, they drive from case to case: drunks, neighbour disputes, minor theft, domestic abuse, eaten dogs... Life proceeds at its own pace until the radio and TV start bringing news. Crimea is around the corner, Donetsk a bit further. Information about the events that will change Ukraine forever reaches Zburyevka. The people start to worry: Might the Crimean scenario repeat itself there? This tragicomic film is set against the backdrop of current history. (One World)

El encuadre de las noticias de radio sobre los disturbios en curso en la capital de Ucrania y Crimea le da un peso histórico, pero por lo demás es una visión demasiado aburrida de la vida «desvergonzadamente insípida» de los habitantes de una aldea ucraniana. Los «sheriffs» ocupan un tercio del metraje y tampoco resuelven algo significativo en todo ese espacio. Uno espera una comedia satírica y obtiene esto. Que le vamos a hacer.
