Hunky Dory

"Artists create; they don't destroy everything they touch." Or, so Sidney is told by his friend. But Sidney is an artist who wonders if destruction is the only true art. HUNKY DORY follows a week in the life of Sidney, a failed glam-rock star moonlighting as a drag queen, as he is left alone with his 11-year-old son (a splashing Edouard Holdener) after the boy's mother takes off. Seemingly unfazed by the distance between himself and stardom, Sidney (co-writer Tomas Pais) slowly begins to grapple with the reality of being a failure in one area of his life while simultaneously appreciating the most important aspect. When the consequences of his hard-rocking lifestyle come to a head, Sid has nothing left to lose and the world to gain, if only he can detach himself from the identity he's created. Heart-warming and fun while also tragically bittersweet, HUNKY DORY is an uplifting tale of a wannabe artist changing from his self-destructive nature to becoming the man responsible for the only true thing he's ever created.
