Veeram, based on the ballads of North Malabar and set in 13th century Kerala, narrates one the tale of the fearless, mighty and brave Kalarippayattu warrior – Chandu who falls apart by greed and ambition. The life of Chandu is starkly similar to William Shakespeare's Macbeth but one that occurred even before his time. (International Film Festival of India, Goa)
