inglés You can watch The Train to Heaven in three different ways. Firstly, as a part of the work of one of the most interesting and talented Czechoslovak directors, where it must be noted that Kachyňa was capable of shooting more atmospherically and lyrically, and this piece belongs more to the average. Secondly, to evaluate it in the context of the time, we must realize that the normalization culminated in 1972 and the time was very unfriendly to filmmaking. The Train to Heaven was one of the best things created at that time, and when compared to contemporary works, it does not fare badly at all. Thirdly, as an example of excellent work with child actors, as I can't think of a film that is anywhere close to it in post-revolutionary productions. Just for this alone, Kachyňa deserves a fourth star. Overall impression: 75%. ()
