inglés WIll Ferrell and John C. Reilly wanted to make fun of two famous detectives, and it ended up being a downright embarrassing piece about two ageing actors trying to revive their faded glory, but their efforts are sad rather than funny. Holmes & Watson is a woefully awkward and poorly directed thing, and watching it will make you feel terribly sorry for anyone who gave it even a minute of their time and the tiniest ounce of talent. inglés The cast gave me hope, the trailer took a big chunk out of it, and well, the film itself did likewise – the opening scene with the suicide rescue wasn't bad, the rest of it (with a few exceptions, including the musical interlude) was. It failed, the jokes can be talked about mostly with air quotes, it's pointless to talk about the fact that it doesn't really make sense in the end at all. And it's really a shame, because both Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly are well suited to the title roles, and Hugh Laurie, Rebecca Hall, Ralph Fiennes and the wonderful Lauren Lapkus would surely have done something much better if the script had allowed them. It could have been something like Without a Clue with Michael Caine and Ben Kingsley, but it's a missed opportunity. ()
