Michelle Williams, Kristen Stewart and Laura Dern star as three women striving to forge their own paths amidst the wide-open plains of the American Northwest. The lawyer (Dern) finds herself contending with both office sexism and a hostage situation. The wife and mother (Williams) has determination to build her dream home which puts her at odds with the men in her life. The young law student (Stewart) forms an ambiguous bond with a lonely ranch hand (Lily Gladstone). (Showtime)

Me gusta la narración lenta de historias humanas en una forma minimalista, especialmente en el escenario del pueblo en el primer plano de las colinas cubiertas de nieve. Pero debe haber algo de qué hablar. Las historias de varios personajes que Certain Women: Vidas de mujer contiene no son en ningún caso de las más interesantes para rodarlas. Lo que hizo que la directora decidiera realizar justamente estas historias es un misterio para mí. Por ejemplo, las películas de Jane Campion, cuyo estilo es similar, son completamente diferentes en términos de contenido y forma.

A great Laura Dern, an uninteresting Michelle Williams, and an overly classic and increasingly masculine Kristen Stewart in a film that told itself that slow pacing is the direction of art films that have big ambitions. It’s too bad that not even one fate or one character were able to really engage me. I don't know why the film would be worth watching.
