Este melodrama sencillo, ingenuo y, sin embargo, dirigido con precisión, fue dirigido por Karel Lamač y protagonizado por él mismo. Él y Anna Ondráková son un placer para la vista y estoy contento de haber tenido la oportunidad de ver esta película en la pantalla grande en el festival de Karlovy Vary (con un acompañamiento musical muy dudoso, por desgracia). La trama banal se compensa con las interpretaciones maravillosas de los actores principales y la dirección de Karel Lamač, llena de ideas y trucos. Muchas de las escenas son un festín para la vista (para mí, ganó el castillo de vasos y jarras de cristal y su motivo dentro de la historia). A pleasantly elaborate film, which the creators obviously cared about. The masterfully told story and charm of Anna Ondráková cannot be spoiled by the few somewhat naive, but in a way very magical scenes. I really liked the end with the Rovensko Puppet Theater and the whole idea that has been winding through White Paradise since the demolition of the glass castle.

We all hate Saša Dobrovolná with the same intensity, but this film also features a fine Vladimir Majer, Lo Marsánová is quite good, Machatý acts a bit better than he did in The Lady with the Small Foot , and the main duo is sympathetically seconded by a quality Josef Rovenský at the end.
