The Hong Kong movie Always Be with You is a prime example of how some horror movies do not work. There are too many romantic scenes, and too many scenes want to be cutely comic. Suddenly, you get something that could be scary, like straight out of a Japanese horror movie, yet it does not work very well in the overall context because it has no impact.
