Sinopsis(1)

I acknowledge that in this case I am not entirely objective and perhaps I could give an extra star. However, the rating is directly proportional to the disappointment that this film brought me. I discovered the novel of the same name at the age of 14, read it in one breath, and in the following months, I succumbed to uncontrollable fits of laughter in completely inappropriate situations. Švejk doesn't even come close to this war satire full of dry British humor... However, from the film version, that corrosive, sarcastic humor completely disappeared and what remained was an anti-war propaganda full of strange allegories, poorly edited. Not even the famous Lennon helped with that. Overall impression: 25%. ()

inglés It’s quite the mess. My much-loved book turned into a muddled film, which has its bright (funny and chilling) moments, but as a whole doesn't particularly impress. However, it's true that this is exactly how I pictured Lieutenant Goodbody. The idea of "colored" soldiers was good, whilst the repeated quoting of Lawrence of Arabia during the desert scenes was not good. Three stars. ()
