Sinopsis(1)

(Filmax)

inglés I think this is the first Spanish film taking place during WW2 I’ve seen. It’s possible that there are not many of those, but despite the rating I gave it, The Photographer of Mauthausen is worth watching. Too bad that the creators chose to portray Mauthausen, one of the worst concentration camps in history, as a Scout camp for a few selected individuals, who are doing amateur theatre in their free time. I don’t say that it didn’t happen, but the way the Spanish conveyed it seems a bit absurd. Moreover, the film focuses on the Spanish only, so it seems that Mauthausen was full of Spanish people, which is also far from accurate. On the positive side, however, this film has a few intriguing scenes that make you bate your breath. Plus it features one of those incredible wartime stories, and for this reason alone, you shouldn’t miss this film. ()

inglés The Spaniards are masters of thrillers, but concentration camp dramas are not their forte. It's not an outright disaster, it does have a couple of strong moments, but the greatest horrors are unfortunately not captured. Fortunately, the film doesn't bore and you do to like the characters, but it must be admitted that there have been better pieces on a similar theme. It could have been grittier, but I also enjoyed watching a different perspective. 65% ()
