Lily (Miriam Hopkins), una carterista que se hace pasar por condesa, conoce en Venecia al famoso ladrón Gaston Monescu (Herbert Marshall), quien a su vez se hace pasar por barón, y se enamoran. Gaston roba al aristócrata François Fileba y huye con Lily antes de que le descubran. Casi un año después, en París, Gaston roba un bolso con diamantes incrustados a la viuda Mariette Colet, pero se lo devuelve y la cautiva de tal forma que lo contrata como secretario. (Filmin)

It is a good movie, no doubt about that. There are absolutely great interactions between the actors, the story is not completely rushed, but for me, it was not something that should captivate and impress me. Ernst Lubitsch directed a film that easily surpassed its time and can still be screened today, but it is not something I will tremble over.
