Sinopsis(1)

The main character in Portrait of a Man is Kalle Rissanen, who is living materially secure life as an IT-trainer and single parent. Kalle's life has recently fallen into crisis and as a consequence of this he has decided to change the path of his life. Kalle awakens to the fact that his own father committed suicide at exactly the same age as himself and during similar circumstances that he is experiencing in his own life. He wants to find answers: what led his father to that decision and how can he avoid the same path? On his journey the main character encounters different types of men: relatives and friends from his youth, who are each sharing their own experiences of life. These men talk about their relationships with children, alcohol, and above all with women. They are pondering how they are supposed to be with and live with women, when nothing seems to be enough. Macho men like their fathers are no longer needed, but kind and sensitive men are not enough for Finnish women either... (Guerilla Films)
