I liked this more than the 2014 film, which it sort of follows, although the cast has changed. Two things had the biggest contributions: Kamishiraishi Mone is a much better actress than Góriki Ayame, and most importantly the main couple were already dating, so I didn't have to go through that getting-to-know-you, love-to-hate, etc. thing with them. They were a couple, they were nice to each other, and overall they clicked. Then of course there was the interloper, but the characters remained constant, so definitely thumbs up. It's a nice high school romance, fairly briskly paced, and in generally you don't get especially bored with it. I may change my mind and give it 4 stars, but for now "only" a very strong 3 stars.
