inglés I don't share the enthusiasm of fans when it comes to certain films, but I do understand the high ratings. However, in this case, I don't understand it because this Mazursky film is quite tiresome. Rather than being good, it is perhaps interesting in the way it indirectly captures the atmosphere of the sexual revolution of the second half of the 60s. It was originally supposed to be a comedy, but the comedic aspect no longer works for me, and to be honest, I was confused for a long time about what genre the film falls into. It is certainly not satire, as it lacks any biting and stinging, and the director looks at the actions of his characters with a sympathetic wink, so it certainly doesn't work as a social critique. It's not even an erotic film because nowadays we are used to much more open depictions of sexuality, and Mazursky's film avoids any bolder scenes, so it's mostly just talked about, and truth be told, I consider the dialogues to be stupid and detached from reality. The whole thing is saved by quality actors and reliable direction by Mazursky. This is what a quality erotic film could be if the actors were willing to show more because, in this genre, they usually consist of desperate individuals who otherwise cannot succeed in the film industry. I wasn't offended, but once is enough... Overall impression: 45%. It is interesting that a decade later, Mazursky directed the film An Unmarried Woman, which conceptually represents the complete opposite of this lighthearted film. ()
