Mid-twenties, unmotivated, and still living at home with his mother and stepfather, Charlie Brenner is given a surprising boost of confidence when he meets Amber, a local barista. As they become closer, the line between friendship and intimacy is blurred, and the situation forces both of them to examine where they are in their respective lives. I couldn't get into the film at first, but it turned out to be so enjoyably acted that I succumbed to it in the end. The actors here are so pleasantly natural, as if nothing is at stake, even though it's about relationships and emotions. Some of the child stars have grown into actors who will be able to impress even in adulthood.
