This couldn’t possibly be a more clearly mediocre movie. This is totally mediocre in all respects, from start to finish, all of its aspects and all of its moments. The actors? Mediocre. Character charisma? Mediocre. Screenplay? (Below) mediocre. And, everything else? Mediocre... What cost all that money when making this movie, I just don’t know. It looks like a mediocre pilot for a mediocre detective comedy series. Absolutely pure mediocre 50 percent. Simply mediocre, if get my drift? ()
"Never mind that the story sucks. Let's put in some two stars, an older and proven one and a young up-and-comer. Maybe it will work." It didn’t. One of Ford's worst commercial flops is full of scenes that wink at the viewer: "Look what a terrible crap this is, laugh", but the result is a tired and impotent attempt at humour. All in all, a terrible drag, and that one car chase doesn't save it. And when I subtract Ford's fat fee, I ask myself where did the 80 million budgeted go? My God! ()
