Frank Pierce es un experimentado conductor de ambulancias que pertenece al personal paramédico de la unidad de EMS. Rodeado de heridos y moribundos, Frank se mueve en el mundo urbano nocturno, atendiendo a esas personas que nadie quiere tocar. Está quemado por los años que ha pasado salvando algunas vidas y viendo morir a mucha gente. Frank vive atormentado por las visiones de la gente a la que no pudo ayudar. Durante tres caóticas noches y junto a tres compañeros, Frank vivirá al límite la mayor de sus experiencias intentando buscar su propia salvación aunque lo que logre sea acercarse más a la locura.
