Glitch Techs

This show is not great at first, although it gets better as it goes on, or maybe I just got used to it. Anyway, what is this? It is something like Pixels crossed with MiB and maybe a bit of Ghostbusters, and there are adolescent protagonists of course because this is aimed at teenage audiences... It is kind of peculiar at first, you have to get used to the rules of its world and get comfortable with the characters. It is not that hard though, because the two main protagonists are quite endearing. It has some real energy, interesting concepts, and sometimes there is a moral to the story (however, it is not in your face). The show is even quite amusing sometimes, and once you get used to the animation, it is actually quite watchable. On the other hand, considering it is an animated TV show focused on computer games, a lot more could have been mined from the pop culture references, especially for (us) video game nerds... Otherwise, it is nice that I was finally at least somewhat entertained by a Nickelodeon production after more than five years. Season one gets 6.7/10. (12.09.2020)

The second season of this show is roughly as good as the first season, with the added bonus of a more coherent origins narrative slowly starting to take shape, as well as some new characters that are not completely pointless... However, I am going to criticize one thing - there is no point in adding an extra episode if it is just a completely mediocre recap where you learn virtually nothing new, that is just a waste of time! On the whole though, it is still slightly above average. 6.7/10. (14.09.2020)
