Sometimes, an entire life can change in one night. This dark comedic thriller, based on the novel by Chris Bohjalian, stars Kaley Cuoco as Cassie Bowden, a New York-based, globe-trotting flight attendant with a devil-may-care attitude and a history of binge drinking, who relishes flying off at a moment’s notice to her next great adventure. But Cassie’s glamorous world is thrown into a tailspin when she wakes up in the wrong hotel, in the wrong bed, with a dead man – and no idea what happened. Haunted by the bleak future she faces if she doesn’t clear her name, Cassie scrambles to put together the pieces of a night in Bangkok gone terribly wrong, leading her down a twisted path filled with unsettling discoveries and more than a few illegal escapades. The Flight Attendant (2020)

inglés Drama, mystery, thriller, comedy — it's all here, although the "mystery" aspect leans more towards psychological explorations into the main character's subconscious. While the other genres do make appearances, they're somewhat watered down, so I didn't quite take the plot too seriously. It ended up being a rather undemanding, relaxing show that allowed my brain to switch to autopilot mode. However, this isn't a criticism. Every now and then, I enjoy something that can almost put me in a vegetative state while still entertaining me. The series fulfilled that role perfectly, earning itself a solid three-star rating from me. / Lesson learned: Be considerate and don't die near flight attendants. ()

Season 1 (2020) (S01)

inglés The first season left me with some mixed feelings. The main character was undeniably interesting (though a bit grating after a while), and it was clear from the start that the story and its execution aimed for a more light-hearted tone. As it progressed, I found myself bothered by the naivety with which the creators tackled most of the issues. But to be fair, it wasn't a total disaster. While I did find some episodes a bit dull, overall it was a decent watch that managed to entertain me at times. So, I think my three out of five stars is a fair rating. / Lesson learned: Life seems a lot brighter with a steady supply of alcohol and hired assassins. ()

In Case of Emergency (2020) (S01E01)

inglés I'm kicking off with the standard three stars because I wasn't disappointed, but I wasn't exactly ecstatic either. The storytelling style didn't quite hit the mark for me. Conversations with the dead? Sure, why not. But personally, I felt there were a bit too many necro dialogues for my liking. That said, I found the main protagonist quite likable; a woman who's always up for a good time and passes long winter evenings by cracking walnuts with her liver. I'm just not sure if the current pace will be enough to sustain eight episodes. Here's hoping it does. / Lesson learned: Want to refresh your memory? Try vodka. ()

Rabbits (2020) (S01E02)

inglés In my review of the previous episode, I voiced concerns about the series' format and direction, and unfortunately, the second episode confirmed those worries. If I wanted to watch a series with a criminal plot and a chatty ghost, I'd go for Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased). Here, Cassia's inner conversations with the deceased don't quite hit the mark in terms of humor or interest, and I have a strong feeling this will become the biggest issue for me in the first season. I can't say I didn't enjoy it at all, but I felt this episode was a bit weaker than its predecessor. / Lesson learned: Don't forget to keep your fridge full. 3*- ()

Funeralia (2020) (S01E03)

inglés The first season seems to lose its grip and momentum with each new episode. The number of flashbacks and internal dialogue keeps increasing, while the plot itself feels like it's stuck in place. The only thrill I get is in a sort of guessing game: trying to predict how much more alcohol Cassie can handle before getting completely wasted again. The character of Annie has become somewhat amusing to me, but it's not enough to salvage the episode. / Lesson learned: What you learn in your youth, your liver will pay for later. ()

Conspiracy Theories (2020) (S01E04)

inglés Compared to the previous episode, I did sense a slight improvement. For once, I felt like something significant was happening. I wouldn't say I was thrilled by what I saw, but at least it felt like the previous downward trend had been reversed. Miranda still remains a mystery to me; it's baffling how someone with such abilities can also be so desperately incompetent. / Lesson learned, or rather a question: Does OCD cause homosexuality? I haven't noticed any other symptoms. 3*- ()

Other People's Houses (2020) (S01E05)

inglés Despite the numerous convenient coincidences and obvious nonsense, I found the episode rather enjoyable. I wasn't exactly jumping with excitement, but I've seen much worse from the creators. This show falls into the category of things that won't strain your brain cells too much, but if you're in the mood for something easy on a lazy afternoon, this could be a good fit. / Lesson learned: "If there are attack dogs, they haven't eaten in days. They're gonna be very weak." Right... or hungry. ()

After Dark (2020) (S01E06)

inglés After praising the last episode, I was immediately punished with a journey into the inner world of an exemplary alcoholic. The result? A dull episode, where all the story dynamics seemed to plummet. Memories, flashbacks, and that truly bizarre internal dialogue took center stage. Well, there were also some relationships (of sorts) being addressed, but it simply wasn't enough. This might just be the weakest episode yet for me, and it certainly didn't leave me pleased. / Lesson learned: If you've been drinking to forget, don't ruin it by trying to remember, or else all that you've invested will go to waste. ()

Hitchcock Double (2020) (S01E07)

inglés This time, the creators weren't even trying to hide how silly this whole thing is. Surprisingly though, I had a good time overall because there were some genuinely humorous moments scattered throughout. / Lesson learned: Collaborating with a hired killer can bring humor and a lot of unexpected experiences into your life. 4*- ()

Arrivals and Departures (2020) (S01E08)

inglés The last two episodes that wrapped up the first season were, for me, the best ones, although I'd say the final episode was slightly weaker. This time around, the plot took a noticeably less comedic turn; God once again appeared from the machine, and there was some melodrama as well. While it fell flat on me, I definitely sensed its presence. I also couldn't ignore the sudden drop in efficiency of our previously one hundred percent professional hired assassin/psychopath, whose work was a hobby. / Lesson learned: Always shoot at extremely dangerous targets repeatedly. 3*+ ()

Season 2 (2022) (S02)

inglés After the first season, I wasn't holding high expectations for the second one. I braced myself for a potential decline, but to my surprise, the creators managed to maintain a pretty solid standard, though somewhat soured by the poorly executed finale. Sure, there were other weak points sprinkled throughout, but they were often balanced out by plenty of enjoyable moments. So, even the second season provided light-hearted entertainment that I enjoyed despite its occasional missteps. Except for that ending... / Lesson learned: When it comes to strictly classified state matters, only share them with your closest friends and family. ()

Seeing Double (2022) (S02E01)

inglés I was quite intrigued to see how the creators would carry on from the conclusion of the first season, where they neatly tied up all the storylines. Unfortunately, the second season didn't kick off on the best note. I found myself disappointed, especially with the abundance of internal dialogue (which already bothered me in the previous season), because one Cassie is more than enough for me. As for where the story might go next, I'm pretty skeptical, but I'll reserve judgment and see where the script takes us. / Lesson learned: Always surrender your mobile phone when entering the CIA building. 3*- ()

Mushrooms, Tasers, and Bears, Oh My! (2022) (S02E02)

inglés It wasn't terrible, but I couldn't shake the feeling that the plot didn't really progress much; it felt like it was just treading water, especially with those frequent trips into Cassie's ever-expanding inner world. The charming naivety of the first season is still there, which is not necessarily a bad thing. / Lesson learned: You'll uncover many secrets in the shower. ()

The Reykjavik Ice Sculpture Festival Is Lovely This Time of Year (2022) (S02E03)

inglés I'll admit, the third episode was a welcome change from the somewhat boring last one. The story actually moved forward (and not just because of the flight to Iceland). Despite the usual quirks, I have to say I was entertained, even if it was on the easy side (but still enjoyable). The creators will have to step it up a bit more for a higher rating from me, but worth a solid three stars. / Lesson learned: Whatever you eat in Iceland, stays in Iceland. Pretty sure about that. ()

Blue Sincerely Reunion (2022) (S02E04)

inglés The episode was just plain weird. Sure, it was a lot more action-packed and lively, so you'd think I'd be pleased, but... The creators went a bit overboard, and most of those action scenes went from being charming naive to outright dumb. And the fact that they tried to poke fun at their own techniques (Miranda from the machine) didn't impress me at all — it just came off as cheap. So, another star down for this one. / Lesson learned: Enigma doesn't hold a candle to emojis. ()

Drowning Women (2022) (S02E05)

inglés The fifth episode wasn't half bad, though it didn't blow me away either. It was a significant improvement over the previous one, which I felt deserved an extra star. Poor Cassie seems to have too many inner voices, so it's not surprising she's dealing with schizophrenia. I've only got one inner voice, and I know for sure I shouldn't give in to it, or it'll lead me straight to the dark side of the Force. Despite all the inner dialogue, I actually quite enjoyed the plot this time around. / Lesson learned: Alcohol is humanity's curse, and there are folks out there who selflessly take it upon themselves. ()

Brothers & Sisters (2022) (S02E06)

inglés The sixth episode of the second season left a similar impression on me as the last one, earning a solid three stars. I like to think I'm pretty understanding about a lot of things; I get that people can get bored in relationships for all sorts of reasons - maybe they're bored by their partner, or vice versa. Sometimes, they get bored when their partner isn't around, leading them to fill the gap with extreme sports or an affair - I can totally get that. But spying for North Korea? That's just a step too far for me. In the end, I got the expected dose of naivety and a plot that didn't strain my brain too much, but surprisingly, it was pretty entertaining. / Lesson learned: An alcoholic only truly faces serious psychological issues (that they're aware of) when they attempt to quit drinking. ()

No Exit (2022) (S02E07)

inglés The seventh episode really stood out as one of the better ones. The creators managed to entertain me nicely while also showing that they've probably hit their creative peak. It felt like a realization that things might not get any better from here. From the first episode of the first season, it was clear to me that this would be an undemanding, light entertainment, and the creators have stuck to that. It's why I can't rate it higher than three stars, but at the same time, I appreciate that they didn't try to force it and end up entering cringe territory. The silly naivety of this show is actually quite charming. / Lesson learned: Unfortunately, a smartphone is often smarter than its owner. ()

Backwards and Forwards (2022) (S02E08)

inglés So this time around, I have to say I was pretty let down. The plot in the final episode took a turn from its previously silly and naive vibe to something just unpleasantly stupid, and I did not enjoy it at all. I get that the creators needed to wrap up all the storylines, but it felt like a mistake to throw in this completely unnecessary plotline just to parody Annie Wilkes. No, the finale fell flat for me, and even though the series was meant to be a light-hearted distraction, there were just too many inconsistencies, moments of obvious stupidity, and a ton of clichés. / Lesson learned: If your doppelgänger looks noticeably smaller and heavier, is it even a doppelgänger? ()
