Orson Welles was simply such a great filmmaker and actor that he could make anything and it would be a great film in some aspect. Shakespeare was not necessarily his domain, but he demonstrated a great approach in his plays, even in this case when he chose an unconventional position. The acting in the film is absolutely excellent, and Orson knew exactly what he was doing. ()
