El Capitán de mercante Tom Wilder (John Wayne) conoce a la perfección los mares de Asia, por lo que recibirá el arriesgado encargo de trasladar a Hong Kong en su embarcación a todo un pueblo de China de doscientas personas para liberarlos del yugo comunista. Su misión será aún más temeraria si cabe ya que deberá cruzar el peligroso Callejón Sangriento, nombre por el que los marinos conocen al devastador estrecho de Formosa. En su viaje le acompañará una mujer occidental llamada Cathy Grainger (Lauren Bacall), encargada de velar por la seguridad del pueblo al que trasladan. (Filmin)

But what. Duke is once again funny, he plays excellently and looks good on him. And it doesn't even have to be a western. Actually, I have a feeling that I prefer him in newestern movies. The story is from China and Duke's confrontation with the Chinese is simply great. Of course, his hero is a terrible cowboy, but he has some flaws here and there. It suits him with Lauren Becall. It's not as big of a movie as it wants to be, but it definitely won't offend.
