Christmas Getaway (2017) (telepelícula)

inglés A Christmas film that I should not have watched. The utterly predictable plot smacks of severe boredom from beginning to end. To make matters worse, any attempt at a good film is permanently undermined by the lackluster acting of most of the cast. (25%)

Próxima (2019)

inglés Until about halfway through, Proxima looks very realistic, but then things start to happen that are pretty crazy. I'm particularly disappointed that the main character managed to leave the pre-departure quarantine without anyone noticing, and on top of that, she was with her daughter for several hours in an area that should be heavily guarded. If I focus purely on the direction, cinematography, and music, I have practically no reservations when it comes to these aspects. (55%)

¡Qué guapa soy! (2018)

inglés My first encounter with Amy Schumer was much better than I expected. I couldn't help but laugh while watching her confident creations. In fact, I was entertained almost every time she appeared on stage, so almost all the time. I didn't even mind the sometimes incorrect humor. (70%)

Beats (2019)

inglés I freely admit that I was happy to be swept away by this little celebration of freedom and liberty. It leaves a somewhat bitter aftertaste, but it also has gradual, hypnotic techno music, perfectly immersive visuals, and, last but not least, great acting performances by the two main representatives of the youthful rebellion. Kaikki synnit - Season 2 (2020) (temporada)

inglés "Even if you are part of the police, you have to use your mind sometimes." - Police Commissioner Jussi Ritola took these words to heart when he punished his wife for her sins in a rather peculiar way... After the inconsistent first season, I didn't have much desire to keep watching. Of course, that would have been a big mistake, because the second season is truly worth it. All the episodes have something to them, they have plenty of suspense and move the plot along in a purposeful way until the last episode, which is very well-developed and so surprising that it deserves the maximum number of stars on its own. I must also highlight the extremely catchy theme song that accompanies the series. All in all, I wouldn't be angry if the Finnish filmmakers made another season. (80%)

Milla 22 (2018)

inglés "Some tough-guy talk may be hard to listen to, but within the genre, it's still a watchable film. Lovers of action shootouts will definitely find something to like here. The story has momentum, the necessary dynamics, and a rather unexpected denouement. (60%)

Nomery (2020)

inglés I don't mind that the plot is set in theatrically stylized settings, as long as the film's concept resonates with me. In a metaphorical representation of a kind of totalitarian dictatorship, Oleg Sentsov points to the real danger that arises from the euphoria that the rebels possess when they succeed in overthrowing the hated regime. As suggested here, it may ultimately be the beginning of an even more monstrous domination than the previous one. Numbers is worth watching, at least for its powerful final minutes, which send chills down the spine. (65%)

Eruption: LA (2018)

inglés The fact that the level of used special effects is catastrophic doesn't bother me that much. I have a much harder time with the stupid script Sean Cain came up with. I'd like to be at least a little worried about the film's characters, but that doesn't work here either. (20%)

El joven Paulo Coelho (2014)

inglés "Light the candle and look directly into the flame. Think about what you want most of all and the challenges you should overcome. Remember, to fight the good fight, you need help. If you don't understand this, you will be an arrogant warrior and your arrogance will defeat you because you will be so sure of yourself that you will not be able to see the pitfalls of the battlefield." - "The magic moment is when the word yes or no can change our entire existence." +++ The Pilgrim: The Best Story of Paulo Coelho is a peculiar and difficult-to-grasp film (like the life and work of this famous writer) that literally oozes Paul's longing for meaning and natural fulfillment in life. A significant part of the film is certainly the music, which I really enjoyed. Not to mention that the lyrics of most of the songs have something to them. (75%)

Havel (2020)

inglés I'm a little disappointed that the creators didn't go more in-depth. The script isn't anything special and it's generally pretty abbreviated. In any case, the film is saved by excellent performances by most of the actors involved, the most impressive of which was the absolutely authentic Martin Hofmann as the actor and Havel's friend Pavel Landovský. As for the musical accompaniment, I have no complaints, and the ending in particular was good. (65%)
