Chris tiene una importante cita de trabajo en la ciudad por eso cuando se encuentra atrapado en medio de un atasco decide coger un desvío muy poco frecuentado. Avanza a toda velocidad por la tortuosa carretera secundaria y al tomar una curva choca con el todoterreno de unos excursionistas que acaban de tener un pinchazo. Con los coches inutilizados, los seis jóvenes se verán obligados a vagar por el bosque en busca de ayuda. Cuando encuentran una cabaña llena de horribles trofeos y restos humanos, empezarán a sospechar que su accidente no ha sido casual. (DeAPlaneta)

La película de terror de Hollywood más sangrienta y brutal de los últimos años, cuyo argumento se basa en Defensa y La matanza de Texas. El problema de la película es que el realismo y el naturalismo intencionados son matados por el cliché de las películas de terror para adolescentes. Está bien que no juegue a nada y reconozca abiertamente la inspiración externa (Defensa se menciona directamente en un diálogo), pero no ayuda a sentirse constreñido y metido en la acción. Por no hablar de la luz del día en la que se desarrolla casi todo. El maquillaje de las criaturas de Stan Winston son sorprendentemente mediocres, la atmósfera nula. Aunque al parecer intencionadamente. Le doy tres estrellas por la radicalidad del terror y la crudeza que es el alfa y el omega de estas matanzas. Y por una escena de sustos, durante la cual la taza de té voló de mi mano.

This is a full-length commercial for Eliza Dushku's tank top. Or perhaps Eliza Dushku in a tank top? Regardless, there is no point in dwelling on what the film is, but on what it is not. It's no ordinary teen slasher/jump-scare fest. It's in fact nonsense, and that’s not even mentioning the lack of internal logic of some of the scenes. It’s from the "it was good enough" category. Enjoy.

The story has been rehashed and washed a hundred times, but I have to admit that it is effectively shot and very bloody.

I wasn't expecting anything, but surprisingly it turned out to be a rather likeable and entertaining homage to classic survival thrillers, led by Boorman's Deliverance. It’s true that the film copies all the usual horror clichés and the story can't really surprise with anything, but on the other hand, Wrong Turn boasts quite a decent atmosphere of vast forests, two really beautifully handled horror scenes and a trio of quite likeable main characters, whose actions didn't seem nearly as stupid as they usually do in these films. I liked The Hills Have Eyes a bit more, but I certainly don't find this cannibalistic contribution reprehensible either. 65%
