inglés There is none of the rawness and camera games typical of Greengrass, on the contrary, this is a surprisingly intimate work where it’s hard to find his signature. An enjoyable story, but surprisingly bland direction and, for me at least, an unconvincing performance by Bonham Carter. ()

inglés In Paul Greengrass's filmography, a romantic drama spiced with bitter humor stands out like a black sheep. However, the director showcased remarkable skills once again and flawlessly brought to life the highly impressive screenplay of one of the most peculiar film romances ever told. He accurately and precisely managed to gauge the right balance in developing the relationship between the main protagonists, knowing exactly when to make the viewer reach for a tissue and when to make them laugh (even if it's somewhat bittersweet). Despite its immense weight, the overall impact, resting on the actors' shoulders, was played out brilliantly. Kenneth Branagh was not overshadowed by Helena Bonham Carter's "affliction," and she portrayed her role with such precision that no one would pity her for the cruel fate she endured. Despite the film being somewhat predictable in its plot, and that the ending can be sensed from the first few minutes, it doesn't sell itself cheaply to the audience. Though imbued with a slightly melancholic atmosphere, paradoxically, after it ended, a tremendous wave of positivity overwhelmed me. And lately, even most romantic comedies fail to achieve that. ()

inglés Dramatic, funny, romantic... Beautiful. Superb performances by Kenneth Branagh and Helena Bonham Carter, one of the first great soundtracks by Rolfe Kent... In short, it’s beautiful to look at and to listen. ()
