inglés Scott Adkins is back in B-movie Tarantino mode. I liked the first film a lot, and, though it has some slight flaws, this sequel is still a very entertaining action B-movie driven by black humour that works for me. This time Adkins will be tasked with defeating the world's famous assassins, including protecting the ungrateful son of a mob boss and saving the life of his only friend. That's the plot, and it's not much of a plot, but it's still engaging enough by B-movie standards and revolves around fine themes. I liked the fact that Adkins has a Chinese woman hired at his home, who is always tasked with ambushing him unexpectedly, so he doesn't go out of practice. There's an interesting introduction of the various antagonists, it has a bit of a Tekken feel to it, every single enemy has some sort of background and each one stands out for something different, I find that awfully cool. There is less gore than in the first one I guess, but the little there is is pleasing. I thought there were less broken limbs, but the choreography is definitely polished. The best are the clown and the ninja at the end – those fights certainly have cult-classic potential, they lacked nothing. I also have to praise the awesome wisecracks, this movie works great as a comedy as well and I actually laughed out loud a few times. Adkins has discovered his hidden talent for wit in this franchise and he trots it out with a nice cadence, which I thought was just fine. I love these action B-movies and this one stands out in humor, style and execution. ()
