While assisting a woman who is searching for her father, Zatoichi (Shinataro Katsu) discovers that the case is tied to corporate bosses who are exploiting their work force. At the end of the story, Zatoichi says something that is absolutely defining for his character: "I only wanted to attend the festival. I never thought I would need to draw my sword." This is the beauty and curse of his character. Problems are drawn to him, regardless of where he looks or where he goes. Fate simply does not favor him, but he is like a perpetual motion machine, always moving forward. And I am glad for it.
