Ferngully es un espectacular y frondoso bosque donde Batty, un murciélago con el radar estropeado, se une a Crysta, Pips y los Beetle Boys para salvar su maravilloso mundo del malvado Hexxus. Ignorando las advertencias de sus amigos, la curiosa hada Crysta sale a explorar el mundo exterior más allá de Ferngully. Descubre entonces a Zak, un humano que está ayudando a devastar el bosque.
