Los humanos están acabando con el bosque, el lugar donde viven los tanukis, una raza de mapaches con asombrosos poderes mágicos. Para detenerles, estos curiosos animales se transformarán en cuanto sea necesario y unirán sus fuerzas con las de otros tanukis para hacerles frente sin comprender que posiblemente la solución no se encuentre en la guerra sino en el diálogo con los humanos. Pom Poko is another production by Studio Ghibli that dazzled me, and in the first few minutes, the opening song put a genuine smile on my face. I managed to keep that smile on my face for most of the movie, and sometimes I even gave a hearty laugh. The animation is simply wonderful, and the narrative rolls along at a relaxing pace and is quite witty, and so are the main protagonists, who I thought were pretty good. Even though they are fighting a brave but not very equal battle with people, you cannot help but root for them.
