Nicolas Cage, Holly Hunter y John Goodman bajo las órdenes de los hermanos Coen en esta recordada y aclamada historia de amor excéntrica llena de locas persecuciones, de trampas inesperadas y de una fantasía como nunca antes habías visto. Cage da vida a un bandido oportunista, que jurando propósito de enmienda propone matrimonio a una policía (Hunter) que trabaja como fotógrafa en la comisaría. Todo parece ir de maravilla hasta que descubren que ella no puede tener niños y todas sus solicitudes para adoptar a un bebé son denegadas. No tardarán mucho tiempo en darse cuenta de que la solución la tienen a pocos metros de su casa, ya que los vecinos acaban de tener quintillizos. "Con tantos niños, ¿cómo van a notar que les falta uno?", piensan. Ahora sólo tienen que secuestrar a uno de ellos y huir. It seems that it can be done without dead bodies. The Coens excel again, both in terms of script and direction. Raising Arizona is a typically quirky spectacle by them, full of amazing crazy characters and memorable scenes. Apart from the big diaper robbery, I will particularly remember for a long time John Goodman and his buddy escaping from prison, the hellish biker who probably came from some post-apocalyptic spaghetti western, the fight in the caravan, the wonderful ending... Heck, I'll remember the whole movie!__P.S. I saw the dubbed TV version, but it didn't ruin the experience for me. I'm sure it was also thanks to the fact that Nicolas Cage spoke in Ondřej Vetchý's voice.

I quite like the Coen brothers, but there are films that don't tell me much and simply don't sit well with me. "Raising Arizona" is one of them. I also like Nicolas Cage, but even he didn't make this film more enjoyable for me. It's entertaining, it's quite crazy, but not in a way that truly amazed me.

Probably the weakest Coen brothers film I've seen so far. This is despite a pretty good cast led by Nicolas Cage in one of his better roles. I just can't help but like it much better when the masters of absurdist humor strike a darker chord. (65%)
