Badass David Carradine versus Bad Badass Chuck Norris – and it's pretty funny. There’s absolutely nothing groundbreaking in terms of direction and script (no one could have expected that), but at the same time it avoids downright embarrassing deviations, the actors are alright (even Chuck with a penchant for beer), and the great music proudly reflects Morricone. Few films in the 1980s have been able to nostalgically resurrect Western formulas as endearingly as McQuade. 60%
