Basada en la novela clásica de Eric Knight de 1940 Lassie Come Home (Lassie vuelve a casa). Ambientada en la víspera de la Segunda Guerra Mundial en un pueblo minero en Yorkshire (Reino Unido). La familia Carraclough está atravesando dificultades económicas y se ve obligada a vender a su amada perra, Lassie, al Duque de Rudling. Cuando Lassie consigue escaparse de su jaula, se da cuenta de que está a 800 kilómetros de su casa, en el remoto castillo del Duque en la costa norte de Escocia. Pero nada la detiene, está decidida a superar todos los obstáculos que se le pongan por delante para volver al hogar que tanto echa de menos. Así empieza una aventura increíble, en la que Lassie atravesará el país pasando por una serie de paisajes espectaculares en los que se enfrentará a peligros naturales y humanos y encontrará ayuda en los sitios más insospechados, embarcada en su intento de volver a casa por Navidad. Lassie might be a doggo that has been the subject of a movie a thousand times. But even the thousandth time over, I still like this story. In this case, it’s purely thanks to the nice fairy-tale atmosphere and the nature of Scotland and Ireland. That was certainly a pleasure to behold. And the well-known family story of a dog that returned to its master is a cherry on the pie. The medieval-fairy-tale atmosphere and the beautiful nature do the trick. Yeah, I must admit that, to my pleasure, Peter Dinklage did a lot with his traveler character. Well, once you are touched by Game of Thrones, it’s hard to see the actors in a different light in other movies.
