Jonathan (Ewan McGregor) es un contable desconectado de la vida que es revigorizado por su nuevo amigo Wyatt (Hugh Jackman), un carismático y poderoso abogado que introduce a Jonathan en un misterioso club sexual conocido como The List. Velká vykrádačka Hry s nevěrou a menší Zloděje životů. Celá zápletka tady už byla, dějové zvraty nepřekvapí, navíc divák pojme podezření velmi brzo, všechno je nápadné, průhledné a slaboduché. Škoda, že Ewan a Hugh se sešli u natolik slabého thrilleru. Vtipná hláška s předehrou bude asi to jediné, co mi z tohoto filmu utkví v paměti.

Not bad for a debut. A great McGregor and an even better Jackman in a story based on differences between characters and trusting accountants. Thanks to the array of beautiful girls in this, there is lots to watch and who wouldn’t want to know Wyatt’s secret phone number? For Maggie Q, if for nothing else.

The idea of an anonymous list is great, the atmosphere of a metropolis at night with tall buildings without curtains and windows to the ground and intimate music is fantastic, but the true love is completely out of place and the ending is also not entirely convincing. Deception is at least a peculiar thriller that is clichéd in several aspects, with a has been seen a hundred times over, but its visuals and great energy lift it from below average to a decent watchability. The actors, however, have absolutely nothing to do with it, their lackluster performance is best left without comment.
