Lemuel Gulliver (Jack Black), un escritor que trabaja como repartidor de correo en un importante periódico de Nueva York sueña con convertirse en editor de viajes. Para ello decide embarcarse en una aventura hacia al Triángulo de las Bermudas, pero una terrible tormenta le arrastrará hasta una isla pérdida habitada por personas diminutas, los Liliputienses. Después de un atormentado comienzo, el gigante Gulliver se convierte en una inspiración para sus diminutos amigos. Liderando a los Liliputienses hacia una victoria sobre su enemiga isla vecina y combatiendo contra un gigante mecánico, Gulliver aún deberá llegar a un acuerdo con sus propios defectos, para salir finalmente de su propio pequeño mundo... More bearable than I expected, I even chuckled a couple of times, but not enough to recommend it – even slightly.

I was soooo looking forward to this movie! And to be honest, I was quite disappointed. Just the shortness of it suggests it was phoned in. An absolute appetizer and nothing more. It's a shame, because Jack Black really is a riot...

Occasionally, I find that the movie I'm watching is so incredibly stupid and repulsive to the point of festering that I don't care not only what happens in it and how it ends, but whether I even make it to the end. I couldn't do it with Gulliver's Travels. After half an hour I fell asleep in a rather awkward position, then I woke up during the end credits... And I didn't mind at all.

That was not nice. Jack Black is so extremely predictable in comedies that it's not pretty. He has nothing to offer in them, and the stupid script, where a romantic story had to be, even though it's perfectly unnecessary, doesn't add anything at all. A couple of fine actors who probably enjoyed the filming but didn't convey any of it to the audience.
