In Hokkaido, Tora-san meets a grumpy veterinarian (the legendary Toshiro Mifune) cared for by the disreputable snack bar mama-san (Keiko Awaji, Mifune's Stray Dog co-star). Meanwhile, Tora-san falls in love with the vet's estranged daughter (Keiko Takeshita) in this 38th entry. This film marked Keiko Awaji's return to movie acting after a 20-year absence. (Shochiku)
