Kei Kurono (Kazunari Ninomiya) y Masaru Kato (Kenichi Matsuyama) son dos estudiantes que son atropellados juntos por un tren, pero en lugar de morir aparecen sin ninguna explicación en un apartamento vacio, junto con otras personas igual de desorientadas que ellos. Pero el apartamento no está vacío ni mucho menos; una misteriosa esfera de color negro llamada Gantz les confirma que todos han muerto y están obligados a participar en un mortal juego en el que tendrán que luchar contra unos monstruos alienígenas. Como ayuda contarán con unos trajes y armas especiales que les conferirán súper-poderes, y con los que serán capaces de enfrentarse a estas invisibles amenazas para el resto de mortales. ¿El objetivo final? Ser el número uno en puntuación y conseguir así un billete de vuelta entre los vivos. (Mediatres Estudio)

The manga "Gantz" got me quite interested and I was very curious about its live-action adaptation. I have to say that live-action versions of manga are not exactly what I would imagine, "Death Note" being the proof, but it can have interesting elements. Given that the manga relies on a sci-fi story and explicit violence, there is some quite explicit nudity here, so I was curious to see how it would be portrayed in the film. It is probably a Japanese A-grade production because this execution is incredibly sterile and it is quite clear from the beginning that it definitely won't be as B-grade as you would like. Compared to the source material, this is truly a sterile spectacle, although it may not seem so during some bloody explosions. And don't forget, when you vomit, cover your mouth with your hand.
