El engendro del diablo

"The Shrine" is a special film, which I think is somewhat underrated. It is an above-average horror movie with an interesting plot development, but there are scenes that will easily stick in your memory - for example, the copulation with a demon is unexpected and it evokes the right, terrifying impression in you. The screenplay has its flaws, there are empty spaces and peculiar characters, but still, it is a horror movie that manages to scare and astonish. (25.10.2014)

I’m not thrilled this time, The Church was only (slightly above) average. I liked several of the atmospheric scenes, but they occur quite randomly and the scary atmosphere never manages to cover the entire film. I also like the pretty original deaths, as well as the music, which in some places was great. Unlike others, though, I didn’t like at all the first part set in the Middle Ages, I’m not a fan of historical horror and wished it would end after 10 minutes. I can’t say I got bored, but the film never managed to capture my attention. 60% (01.05.2008)
