El chef estrella Alexandre Vauclair no se entiende con la nueva dirección de la empresa propietaria de su restaurante, que prefiere apostar por la nueva cocina molecular. Vauclair se encuentra desesperado y sin ideas para el nuevo menú que puntuarán los críticos gastronómicos de la Guía. Alexandre necesita inspiración y un nuevo ayudante. Vaření a filmy, to je para mí una combinación increíble que siempre me hace feliz. Las películas sobre cocina y competencias de estrellas tienen la misma plantilla, un guión muy similar y una serie de clichés, pero aun así me divierten. Y en este caso, me divertí de corazón, me reí y lloré, y estoy un poco sensible. Es una excelente diversión, el dúo principal es fantástico, Julien Boisselier es perfectamente desagradable y las hermosas francesas en papeles secundarios le dan ese toque de esencia francesa. ¿Dónde más podrían hacerse películas sobre cocina que en Francia o España? ¡La próxima vez, por favor, San Sebastián!

The French version of Steve Martin lives out his culinary ambitions and, although you will like this warm comedy, in the end it leaves no special aftertaste that would make you watch it regularly. And since the three stars are Lagarde’s dream, I don’t have the heart not to give them to him... And also because Ratatouille did the same better and more gracefully.

So it's official, I like movies about food and cooking. There's also the hope that Jean Reno will play something cool, which fortunately happened here. I enjoyed the movie, had a good laugh, and I've been convinced that I might try molecular gastronomy sometime, but it definitely won't be a lifelong love affair like with classic cuisine.
