Nunca es tarde nos cuenta como un veterano rockero, al que da vida Al Pacino, sigue viviendo una desenfrenada vida de músico, con drogas y una novia mucho más joven que él. El día de su 64 cumpleaños, su vida dará un giro de 360 grados cuando encuentre una carta escrita por un joven John Lennon, que le hará replantearse ciertos aspectos de su vida. En ese momento se dará cuenta que siempre hay una primera vez para una segunda oportunidad, iniciando un duro viaje lleno de emociones y sentimientos donde, el amor es lo único que importa. Un poco de aburrimiento común con el único elemento significativo: el gran actor, cuyo personaje, sin embargo, no es muy simpático y solo puede parecer genial para las damas en la primera fila de su concierto. Al Pacino, como un bohemio egoísta, siendo bastante mayor, está buscando como acercarse a su hijo alienado, como ya lo habían hecho muchísimos personajes similares en las tantas películas. Y, al mismo tiempo, está intentando seducir a Anette Bening que se ve inaccesible, pero no lo hace de forma tan divertida y encantadora como lo estuvo haciendo Jack con Helen.

The kind of movie that explains how money, hookers, and dope can't make you happy. Understandably shot from the point of view of a man who has no shortage of money, hookers, and dope. As a nostalgic sentimental safe bet, it's challenging from all directions, especially the passages where the protagonist irons out his shitty life by buying someone something terribly expensive or at least a bunch of toys or something. Logically, the first of the narrative breaks occurs when he runs out of money, which is either a deliberate middle finger to the classic value-building of melodramas or the incompetence of the filmmakers, but which is excellently patched up by the affable Al Pacino, whose wild charisma as the rich jerk behind the microphone I just ate up. Oh, and some of the dialogue is great.

Al Pacino is simply such a mature actor that he captivates you with his great performance. True, Christopher Plummer stands out even more, as he is incredibly vital for his age, but above all, he acts brilliantly. The story is human, moving, and shows human aspects that are not always nice. But it definitely belongs to life. At times overly sentimental, but never completely over the top.
