Valentín (Eugenio Derbez) es el soltero más mujeriego de Acapulco, hasta que un día, una mujer de su pasado deja un bebé en su puerta y desaparece. Valentín decide ir a Los Ángeles en su búsqueda, pero en vez de encontrar a la madre, encuentra un hogar para él y su hija Maggie (Loreto Peralta). Siendo un papá sin experiencia, educa a Maggie y a la vez se establece como uno de los mejores especialistas de Hollywood, con su hija como su mayor admiradora. Mientras ella crece, Valentín también se ve obligado a madurar, convirtiéndose en un verdadero hombre. Pero cuando la niña cumple 7 años y aparece la madre biológica de Maggie, Valentín se da cuenta de que está a punto de perder a su única familia y a su mejor amiga, su hija. (Filmax)

After seeing a few of his comedies, Eugenio Derbez is for me a guarantee of unique and quality humor. And I didn’t know that he was behind the idea that the French made into the film Two Is a Family three years later. And even though I found the European version more relatable to, I definitely wasn’t bored while watching this comedy. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised.

Well, being promiscuous doesn't pay off too much, because then something terrible can happen to you - you will have a daughter. Why the main character of the movie is so promiscuous is hard to understand. Yes, he is a man, but his appearance is... well, if any, then irritating. This man finds out that he has a daughter, and the mistress who gave birth to the child leaves the responsibility to him. The basic plot of the Mexican movie is quite clear. At times, the film tries too hard to play on emotions, at times the comedy is funny, at times not at all. It's one of those modern mixtures of comedy/drama/romance, but unfortunately it doesn't bring anything extra. Maybe average, but only if you're in the mood for it. However, the film once again teaches us that some people are simply jerks and only care about themselves. For the poorly executed, terribly heart-wrenching ending, I have to give it a slightly below-average rating.
