When ambitious young real estate agent Leigh is asked to sell a house with a checkered past, she crosses paths with a disturbed girl whom she learns is the runaway daughter of the couple selling the property. When Leigh tries to intervene and help her, she becomes entangled with a supernatural force that soon pulls Leigh's artist sister Vera into its web — and has sinister plans for both of them. The intent of the creator can be understood. His main goal was to follow the entire cycle of how the devil comes to earth. Not just what can happen during pregnancy, but also how it is conceived, how it is born, and what happens next. However, it is too fragmented and overall there is too little of it to truly engage you and to impress you. Some scenes then seem like they are from a different movie, just an attempt to please horror fans.

There are many things that can be praised in this film: technically and visually is an improvement over the previous and made-for-TV looking The Pact, the performances are solid and some scenes manage to generate a scary atmosphere. But the lack of one main character, stretching the plot to a relatively long time and not trying to be anything other than your typical scary genre flick are a series of tragic decisions that result in a film that works only very problematically, if at all, to the point that I fell asleep watching it the first time. On the other hand, the ending is WTF material, and not in a good sense.
