It seemed like a great idea when all-around nice guy Max and his beautiful girlfriend, Evelyn moved in together. But when Evelyn turns out to be a controlling, manipulative nightmare, Max knows it's time to call it quits. There's just one problem: he's terrified of breaking up with her. Fate steps in when Evelyn is the victim of a fatal, freak accident, leaving Max single and ready to mingle. I would imagine that a short film story or, conversely, a black-humored sitcom series would be produced based on this idea, but there was really too little for a full-feature film. Joe Dante tried to sneak in as much love for classic horror films as he could, but with that shallow contemporary script, it just couldn't come together. A few bright moments this film may have, but I won't remember them for long.

Demasiado cómica para el terror, pero demasiado seca para una comedia. Entiendo perfectamente que muchos espectadores no se sientan cómodos. Yo mismo esperaba más bien poco, pero al final me lo he pasado muy bien. Alan Trezza no es un gran guionista, pero es evidente que es un gran aficionado al género y se asoció con Joe Dante para crear un entretenido homenaje al cine de terror. No solo hay todo tipo de referencias a la cultura pop a lo largo de la película, sino que en casi todas las escenas podemos ver un póster de cine colgado en alguna pared o una película de terror en blanco y negro en la televisión. Anton Yelchin como calzonazos entretiene, Alexandra Daddario es divertida de ver, y no sería una película de Joe Dante sin el veterano Dick Miller. Me recordó perfectamente a los años 80.

Gradually, the film "Burying the Ex" loses its charm and the joke isn't that great, maybe you will stop laughing completely, but I still enjoyed this movie and had a good time as I expected. This is simply the type of film that entertains me. It's not a masterpiece, but the effort to make something enjoyable for the audience from a relatively simple screenplay is evident. And I simply enjoyed it. The young actors are cool.
