Jackie, atribulada por su adicción al alcohol, se ve liberada de su rehabilitación y agradece una segunda oportunidad con un trabajo nuevo y un apartamento amueblado en Havenhurst. Con la culpabilidad sobre su espalda, debido a la trágica pérdida de su hija de 8 años de edad, Jackie se mete rápidamente en los misterios de Havenhurst, en particular la desaparición sin resolver de la anterior ocupante del apartamento, una mujer de la que se hizo amiga en su proceso de rehabilitación y que recientemente desapareció sin dejar rastro. Con la ayuda de un duro detective de la policía de Nueva York y una niña solitaria que vive bajo la sombra de los sádicos caprichos de sus cuidadores, Jackie debe combatir a sus demonios internos y también a los muy reales, que viven en las paredes de Havenhurst. Horror films where the heroes and villains fight each other between walls have been trending in recent years… and it’s beginning to lose its appeal. A bleached swole killer isn’t something we haven’t seen, either, so don’t expect any originality from Havenhusrt. But that’s not what slasher flicks are about, right? The direction of Andrew C. Erin (who only has uninteresting TV movies under his belt) is not particularly engaging, but he does manage to keep a relatively decent atmosphere of gloomy hotel corridors and the danger hidden behind the walls. Between two and three.

I can't help but find Havenhurst kind of bland. Even though the lead actress tries and actually does well, it's ultimately just another horror movie about moving somewhere you shouldn't because there are things waiting for you that you don't want to experience. It's an overly hackneyed theme that's a bit undermined by how everything is explained, but the ending is actually not that bad.
