Tetsuzo, más conocido en Occidente como Hokusai, fue un artista célebre en todo Japón por sus sorprendentes obras. Lo que mucha gente desconoce es que la tercera de sus cuatro hijas, O-Ei, una joven terca e independiente, realizó anónimamente muchas de las obras que hoy en día se le atribuyen a su padre. Esta es la historia jamás contada de O-Ei, un retrato animado de una mujer de espíritu libre eclipsada por la sombra de su padre que se despliega a través de las estaciones cambiantes. A biopic in the style of Japanese animation is refreshing. That's probably the main thing that can be said about the film. It's refreshing, but not great. It's a biographical story with dramatic and strong elements, but at the same time, some moments left me cold and a bit bored. But the animation works.
